Ed van Weeren
was born in 1946 in Amsterdam.
The sculptor
John Abel was his first teacher, by whom the accent was the use of
wood. Working with wood still has a slight preference when making the
choice for the material of a new sculpture. He got more trained in
thinking in three dimensional space and working with other materials,
like modelling-clay and bronze, by Marja Thijssen, a sculptress and
modeller.
Since 2001 he
works full-time in creating and shaping objects, alternately in his
studio in Almere and in "En face de l'église " (Le
Rialet, France)
